Jaguar showcases C-X16 at LA auto show

Jaguar
The Indian automobile major Tata Motors owned Jaguar has showcased the C-X16 sportscar at the LA auto show, but it was reported that the model might go for production in next year itself. The media reports quoted Adrian Hallmark as saying "We are very close, but there's no decision yet. We will absolutely do both styles, but the order of launch isn't set. Depending on region, the market for the convertible is 40-60 per cent, so it is a very close decision between the two."

It was reported that the Jaguar C-X16 concept incorporates a 95 bhp electric motor which can be used to drive the car for short distances up to 50mph, or can be used in conjunction with the 375bhp 3.0-litre V6 engine to produce a speed boost at the touch of a button. It was mentioned that expected to be launched in late 2012, the Jaguar C-X16 will cost between £55,000 and £70,000 and will feature that 3.0-litre V6 with electric motor mated to a ZR eight-speed automatic gearbox. On its own, the electric motor - which is charged by harvesting power from the engine during braking, similar to KERS technology in Formula One - produces 95bhp and 173lb ft of torque, and can power the Jag for short distances at speeds up to 50mph.

The automaker has sold more than 200,000 of the small sport utility vehicles this year, making it the fifth-best-selling vehicle in America and the top SUV. Decent interior room and cargo space make it popular among soccer moms, while its masculine rectangular SUV design has attracted male buyers.

2012 Audi S8 Spied
Audi seems to follow his desire to communicate the subtle power and elegance of S-product line, avoiding the sticky bold and often adopted by some luxury sports models. Indeed, it seems that Audi has chosen to go somewhere else entirely, some landing chrome A8 motorway standard for stealth, like the black color components.

Up front, Audi has reworked the lines of the bumper fascia complete with respect to the A8, where changes of packaging around the back of the four exhaust tips. The wheels have been changed to a unique-to-the-S8 design that hides the massive rotors and calipers for improved stopping power.

2011 Audi S5 Cabriolet Review

2011 Audi S5 Cabriolet

In essence, the convertible version of the sedan S4, S5 offers buyers a good mix of performance, comfort and style.

S5 cabriolet looks a little further down the line in the Grand Tourer, rather than all-out sports and contrary to its V8 S5 coupe counterpart, the S5 uses Audi convertible soft 3.0-liter V6 compressor.

What about the cons?

In previous years, the S5 coupe would have gone against the BMW M3, Audi, but has revised its offer to provide a better comparison of apples apples. The S5 now lines against mid-level 335i, leaving the M3 for just RS5 Europe.

As the nature of high-level Audi S5 buyers of vehicles such as Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Volvo C70 convertible, and their shopping list - even if the labels do not offer the same level of performance.

Innovations?

For better or for worse, the S5 Cabriolet bit of a technological tour de force, requiring a degree to operate many functions of the car. While the third generation of the Audi MMI is probably the best iteration to date, it can still take your attention away from the road, which seems rather against the point in a car-based driver and S5 coupe.

However, the Audi 3.0-liter supercharged V6 will remain the same incredible that the first time will be shown two years ago, seven-speed automatic and the S5 is a huge step forward in the Audi DSG.

How?

A5 is undoubtedly the most beautiful car Audi's latest - and are very turned rows of drop-top version of the car - even if this debate is now obscured by A7.

The S5 is a little more glitz and glamor to put it out of the standard car, the S5 wins a silver mirror sports front, roof and side signature quad exhaust pipes Audi S.

Overall, the changes are relatively minor, and we love it. S5 does not scream boy racer, who still manages to feel more special than a regular BMW 335i convertible.

And inside?

Audi has long been known for its upscale interior and S5 Cabriolet is no exception. Audi has not skimped on the quality of equipment S5, and shape of the car and finish are exactly what you expect from a $ 60,000, most luxurious sports cars. But the S5 is equipped with a manual adjustment of the steering column, which seems kind of low brow at that price.

The S5 win a pair of front bucket seats unique sports, and found it to be well supported and comfortable enough for long trips. The rear seats are standard A5 S5-question, but our test model in red and black was added to the sportiness of the car.

Ruf, a German company that modifies vehicles tuning so violently that the German government actually sees as a car manufacturer, rather than one tuner, so there may be truth behind this allegation.

RUF is the supercar will include an integrated roll cage, a preventive measure in case the owners ran out of talent, while testing the limits of the highly massaged Porsche bi-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six. The engine sends 750 horsepower and 708 lb-ft. torque to the rear wheels via a sequential gearbox with six speeds, and with a weight of just over 3000 lbs, the CTR 3 a weight capacity of 4.4 kg per horsepower.

Ruf CTR estimates that three rockets at 62 km / h in 3.2 seconds off, with 125 km / h, has only 6.4 seconds. The acceleration is expected to end 236 km / h, although the car has a 260 kmh speedometer, just in case.

2011 Cadillac CTS-V Wagon by Omran Al Owais and his brother Mohammed has a ridiculous idea to render the Cadillac CTS-V into a wagon race car. Although just a render, but they hope that these images will get the interest and could put together some sponsorship to make this car a reality.

The Cadillac CTS-V Wagon car seen in these images is actually one of the brothers and they hope to take it to the Nürburgring to complete the next step in production is possible. Before that happens, however, the two brothers looking to get advice from some top tuners, including Hennessey Performance and D3, as to allow. Currently, the Cadillac CTS-V Wagon cars still in standard form which means it is powered a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that delivers 556 HP and 551 lb-ft of torque. We do not expect to see many changes, but we imagine that change is actually made adjustments similar to the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe cacer.

A CTS-V Wagon Racer is the dream car of Lap 57’s Emirati racing drivers Omran Al Owais, who said: “We hope that this fetish might catch on other Emiratis and see them ditching their X6Ms and G55s, so that we see serious girls begin to the street as the RS6/E63 or the exciting new M5 wagon. the streets of Jumeirah, the night will never be the same”.

Jeep Grand Cherokee first drive

The latest Grand Cherokee will be locking horns with the likes of the Range Rover Sport, the Volkswagen Touareg and BMW X5 and is arriving at a time Jeep is planning a comeback in the UK.

2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

In the past few years the legendary American brand has been through the mill with parent company Chrysler hit by financial meltdown in the US.

2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Now Chrysler is hooked up to Fiat and the new Grand Cherokee something of a tripartite affair.

Its DNA may be Yankee Doodle Dandy but the Grand Cherokee’s underpinnings come from Mercedes – Chrysler’s previous partner – and the engine is a new 3.0-litre V6 diesel from Fiat.

The combination is highly effective producing heavyweight performance which in the top specification Overland model is backed up with impressive kit.

2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Priced from £43,995, that version comes with sat-nav, a rear-view camera, adaptive cruise control, air suspension and blind spot alerts among its standard features – items which make it the best part of £7,000 less than a similarly equipped Touareg.

A cheaper Grand Cherokee Limited is available at £36,795, but without the extra equipment – especially the air suspension – it does not stack up as well.

With big alloys – 18-inch on the Limited and 20 on the Overland – the ride is harsh without the automatic damping and the absence of sat-nav as standard on a car in this echelon is an oversight.

In this league quality counts and the overall refinement of the Overland makes a lot more sense when looking at the opposition.

Inside the Grand Cherokee is as roomy as you’d expect from a large 4x4. It’s well appointed and with quality leather upholstery and wooden trim inserts the Overland is up with the best. There’s even a power operated tailgate, ventilated front seats and a heated steering wheel among its creature comforts.

There’s new instrumentation which is fresh and trendy but there remains a straight up and down feel to the dash – the norm in America but a little different to how the European brands do it.

Even the chassis has been reworked in matte black and carbon, to match the paint. Under the hood it’s the place where the car was really taken to the “max”. The German tuners installed twin turbochargers on the car’s already really powerful 6.0L V12 engine that will take this car’s power to a breathtaking output. A new stainless steel sport exhaust with 90 mm tailpipes, a new intake manifold, larger fuel injectors, high flow air filters and a large intercooler also contribute to the car’s massive power boost.

Peugeot RCZ HDi class winner at Nurburgring

The two Peugeots ran in the D1T class for diesel cars with a displacement between 1.7 litres and 2.0 litres. The change required to make them competitive and indeed class winners, was an increase in turbo boost pressure. Torque increased from 340 Nm to 400 Nm and power left from 120 kW to 150 kW.

Peugeot RCZ HDi

Delphi’s original equipment charge ait coolers and radiators were retained as they met the standard for endurance racing. Even the standard fuel pump was retained without modification despite the increased maximum fuel flow, which bumped up the power and torque.

The end result for the class winning Peugeot RCZ was that it completed a total of 3299.14 kilometres and finished three laps ahead of the second place car.

In Australia, you can buy a Peugeot RCZ HDi for $54, 990 and let me just say, this is a superb handling sports car with styling to match.
